For the time being, I would support to create a firmware version which lets the TF4060 run on an A4000T/A4000D+ with the original 53c710 driver (spoiler). The update process isn't that hard and will work even when the TF4060 isn't able to boot.
This was released June 2024 already.
This would be firmware f29479b then? viewtopic.php?p=115941#p115941

https://alen.dreamhosters.com/terriblef ... tructions/ lists this as having the random boot problem we are talking about?
I'll try it anyways.

Hi all,

Got my TF4060 moved over to an a3k and I am having crashes with motherboard RAM access.

TF4060: Rev5b, <30, Full 060, Firmware 1c48879
A3000: Originally 16MHz (runs fine at 25MHz), Rev 7.3, 2M Chip, 16M Fast, no Zorro cards, OS 37.111 in ROM. No battery damage. Stock board + INT2 mod.

To duplicate the problem:
-Boot off of floppy into ATK
-Memory region test of 16M motherboard RAM, instant lock-up
+Other regions test fine, for a long time, including the 256MB onboard memory.

Other places to see the problem:
- Boot off of motherboard SCSI or TF IDE, 95% time crashes before workbench.

Things that test good:
+ Boot w/o startup sequence
+ Revert jumpers to internal, remove card, motherboard RAM tests fine. OS fully loads, all is well. Can run for days. Various Zorro cards work.

Other notes:
- The 5% of the time I get to Workbench, only 256MB of fast is shown.
- Booting from IDE and SCSI both fail similarly

So I think there's a problem with motherboard RAM access or some kind of conflict?

Any thoughts? I did try all the firmware versions posted here https://alen.dreamhosters.com/terriblef ... tructions/

Thank you!

Does your A3000 run at 25mhz? The TF4060 injects 25mhz into the mobo so everything needs
to be setup for 25'mhz.

EDIT: A3000 mobo ram test is one of my standard regressions so it is tested and confirmed working before i release a FW

Can you just remove the mobo RAM and try to boot again?

Thank you for this.

I had a jumper on 2-3 that was a 1-2 or 3-4 jumper. I blame my eyesight + getting old.

Fixed this and all is well so far. Working great and going to let the men tests run overnight.

Thank you for the response!

Hello together,

I just received my TF4060 and it seems to work in my A4000 Tower (Amiga Technologies).
But I have several problems.

When using the TF4060 IDE ehide.device the HDD will "hang up" after loading/reading from the CF card.
Not everytime for the same action, but i if copy files or extract LHAs it will the IDE device stops working (the system does not crash, mouse can be moved, but you can do nothing because IDE is not responding).

I tried several CFs / HDDs / M.2 etc. and several CF2IDE, M.2ToIDE and all the stuff i have here in my hobby room (and its a lot ;) )
Working from the internal IDE seems to work fine.
The system was rockstable before a Cyberstorm MK2 (wich had also problems, but that is another story).
I tried using KickROM 3.2 and 3.2.3, but that does not change anything.
No devices are connected to the internal SCSI.

I installed OS 3.2(.3) several times and also installed the recommended MMULibs as listed here:
https://alen.dreamhosters.com/terriblef ... tructions/https://alen.dreamhosters.com/terriblefire/tf4060-installation-and-instructions/

I removed all Zorro cards, the Indivision AGA, put a IDE Terminator into the internal IDE port and also removed the motherboard RAM.
But I still gets the errors after booting the system with the TF40460 you can see in the screenshots and short videos here.

Would be great if someone has an idea what could be the problem :D

@TheoTheoderich I've approved your post but please in future upload all photos to the forum. That way anyone can still see the photos should the external links break for any reason.

Thank you.

I'm unable to access the media you attached to the post. So its better to upload to the forum.

If there is a ehide issue then its completely unrelated to anything else in the system. Can you send me a cf card image that reproduces the issue (as bare bones as possible ... put it in a download link) and tell me what firmwares you are on. I'll try to take a look this week.

OK i think I have a fix for this that came in after the A4000T support broke again.. Does this look like your issue?
