Well that was a faff. It didn't work because of my servers CSP stuff.



Will see how effective that is as I guess I would be getting 5-10 spammers each hour as it was previously.

I've also added some blacklist stuff in there as well. Still looking for stuff to throw in it.

Well captcha and blacklists were ineffective then :roll:


Only other thing is stuff like questions to answer sign up :roll:

Seems some spam accounts are getting blocked at least... There's loads...

If you can integrate fail2ban with those blocks that might help in cutting down on the tries as well. Will still need the system to detect and block some signups first though.

That has actually just reminded me fail2ban isn't running since I changed to nginx I think. Totally forgot about it :roll:

Back running. 285 banned IP's in the list now.

Not sure there is a mediawiki F2B rule but I will look after tea...

Btw I can't login to the wiki anymore. I had my password remembered and it's not accepted anymore. When I tried to register again, it told me that "mikro" is already taken. Hm.

I'm not able to edit any page due to:
"A confirmation code has already been emailed to you; if you recently created your account, you may wish to wait a few minutes for it to arrive before trying to request a new code."

And there is no any email with confirmation code in my inbox
