Well, the A1200 is now fixed up with a Gotek:

All looking good and completely reversible. This is the 2nd unit I've bought from the this seller on eBay
c64bits, one for my A500 and this one, and they are good units, well made and with everything needed, and a good pice too for what they contain.
Also fully reversible.

Interesting...might have to get one for at least one of my remaining A500s...

Admittedly the display and knob doodad is a bit of a wart, but you don't have to install it if you don't want to. Also, it just clips in, no glue required. They also do an external Gotek for Amiga.

I might get a lot of flak for saying it but I'm less a fan of the A500 aesthetics than the ST range so I'm less affronted by it from that perspective (and that isn't because it's an Amiga rather than an Atari!!!! It's just my personal preference, like with the original C64 case being far more my taste than the C64C case).
It is quite a reasonable price compared to some other solutions too (and the A500 is a bit trickier to house a standard Gotek in by the looks of things, compared again to the STs)
I'll get my coat...

Well, finally sort of restocked with Goteks. I'd slowly used mine up over the last few years, so now have these two available for workshop usage.

Just finished modding the cases for OLED and putting back together, I have to say I do like the blue OLED, much clearer than the ones I have in other machines, which are a bit pale.

It looks like I may have a line on an Atari 800.
It comes with a whole heap of stuff, cassette deck, BASIC and Assembler cartridge, 1050 disk drive, Atari 850 and some other bits.
More on this as and when it happens, but the price is looking promising :)

Oh how very annoying.
My main TV in the retro room has just turned off and won't come out of standby!!!
I thought the Atari 800 had died at first, but no it was the TV.

TV update. I think this may be the problem:

Very bulgy caps on the PSU, the photo doesn't really do them justice, and since it has power but doesn't power on I think that is the problem. At least I hope it is
EDIT: On closer inspection they have both popped for sure.
