Got the cooling fan fitted..

Turns out I had got the extruded fan and the cooling fan wired wrong way around :roll: Luckily I could easily change this in firmware..
So now currently printing, wish me luck... Where she stops nobody knows! :lol: :hide:

It looks almost the same as the ender3 mechanism. But I am not sure about the actual head mounting plate or if the ender3 physically the same width or not.
I have been trying to find a linear rail kit but there seems to be that much variation on it all I've got a bit lost with it all :(
Its about 360mm long. The ender3 kits seem to have a solid "back plate" from left to right where is mine is separate mounting plates. Sorry I don't know what all these parts are called.. But with me not wanting to change the actual z-axis mechanism for anything else, I really just need to find the bar and a suitable mounting kit for my head.
Apparently you can fit the BIQU H2 head on a ender 3, but I'm not sure which of the multiple brackets will actually do this job ?!

Finally got my misbehaving Cosmosex sent over to
@rubber_jonnie To diagnose. He is a networking wizard so should be easy work for him ;) I think I only ever got it working once despite best efforts " a while back" it has just been sat on the shelf not being used.

Fun fact - Jookie deliberately put the word "sex" in the name. He got distracted with all that as opposed to doing Atari stuff.. Such as it normally goes it seems :roll:

Back to the flash forge and I seem to be back to this odd problem again :roll:
The print towards the back of the printer always ends up a total disaster, where the front always seems smooth.
The bed is perfectly level and I printed out several squares across the bed to confirm. Ironically the squares print out amazingly well other than some Z-seam under extrusion oddly. Incidentally no matter what I did I could just not get any effect on it at all.
So back to this bar.. I have tried reducing the multiplier to 0.90 which had no effect. The z-axis is perfectly calibrated along with feed rate and all movements. Printing incredibly slow or incredibly fast makes no odds to this problem. Regardless of temperature printed has no effect either.
I suspect the problem might be down to linear advance as the smoothie board does not seem to support it :roll: It is pretty strange as if anything, it under extrudes when going slow, and over extrudes when doing the long lines.
I realise this could be down to mechanical vibration and such, but my small squares do not seem to suffer from this and even reducing the speed right down does not seem to change anything.
Annoyingly this first layer is not actually using "infill" so I cannot set it to simply 50% or anything. The only thing which really seem to help at any point is the coasting setting (well on the BIQU) but I think the smoothieboard is not supporting this for some reason.Which I would assume this will be down to simply the gcode more than the board ?
So unless anyone has any suggestions, I am pretty much looking at changing the logic board again :roll:

I think I've worked something out :crazy: it seems the stepper motor is not micro stepping. I think it has 400steps so it would equate to 1/2 step ?
I tried printing much much slower and the problem got worse. It's not over extruding either. I think the steps are causing inconsistent flow. As the line is drawn I can feel the motor stepping if I hold the abs as it extrudes. I think this it what is causing the mechanical vibration like pattern. As the extrusion is varying from a lot to nothing kinda thing.
So the problem is, why is the motor not micro stepping. I've opened a topic on the smoothieware forum, but this can only be a software issue, or the board or motor is faulty. Whichever it is, its probably going to be a pain to diagnose :roll:
