To drive the clock on something like a BBC or other retro machine. I think Adrians digital basement did something like that on a C16, but just wondering if it's possible?

I've not seen this done as I think that the simple clock circuit and very common crystal speed means that no-one's bothers. Plus using the video chip to supply the clocks means that the video chip is always in sync as it has control.

Agreed, it's probably just not come up, but if I have problems getting the clock to play nice, then it would be nice to have an alternative so I can at least rule it out by having a known good master clock.

Still musing at the moment.

If only I'd brought my proper oscilloscope with me......

So Jon what exactly is a Beep.. The only beep’s we have here in America Is it the noise a little kid makes when he’s on a bike. We have Apple’s, not Apricots, etc…

It's an 8 bit computer from back in the early 80's/90's and was used extensively in schools, and has a spot in my heart from a nostalgia PoV. More detail here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBC_Micro

It was pretty expensive for the time at £335, which equates to just under £900 today, so as a family we couldn't afford one, but I didn't do without and had a ZX81, Spectrum and then an Atari 800XL as the cost of those dropped.

I guess with my collection I probably have upwards of 30-40 machines of various types, so I probably could be considered a hoarder.

So, was there any logic to driving on the wrong side of the road? I spent a lot of time in Canberra AU diving on the wrong side of the road and still haven't fully recovered from that experience. I adapted to the wrong side easily but coming back to the right side of the road was another story. :crazy:
