I designed a circuit for a PIC16F628 SMD chip PS2 mouse adapter and CNC-milled it.
PS2-00.jpg
The PCB has a 0,1 uF decoupling cap on the bottom. Two sided CB milling went fine by aligning by aiming the tip on a via. What looks like rough finish aroudn the traces is reflections.

It worked so I built it into an old Logitech wireless mouse dongle. Now I have a wireless optical Amiga mouse.

The Z-axis rails have developed a lot of play so I will make a bushing to eliminate it.

I optimized the design to make it as small as practically possible. Ended up with a mirrored USB connector but I fixed taht after the photo was taken. Ready to mill another one now. lol The USB is soldered to the surface on the other side, with the housing tabs through the oval slots.

Since the USB pads were mirrored I made a PS2 adapter instead. Giving it away locally.

I temporarily tightened up the Z-rails on the CNC by strapping the spindle to the bridge with a strong spring.

Here's as small as I can make it with a SOP18 package (1,27 mm pitch). I also centered the USB and D-sub.

Today I redesigned it for SSOP20 (0,65 mm pitch) and made it a lot smaller again. I haven't cut that out yet but it's fun to optimize circuits.

Itty bitty mouse adapter. I don't have the SSOP20 PIC but it should work as the TSOP18 package version worked.

I tried putting the TF534 back in the Amiga 2000 along with a CD-ROM. It works. The SD Card is Master and the CD ROM is slave. I didn't think it would work. Long cable too.
