Looks good to me.
Did you make provision to take it apart for the next battery change?
Yep, if it needs another battery it's still just 4 screws and a locking collar and you're inside. There may be a fair bit of hot glue in there, but nothing that can't be undone. Good until the plastic body breaks now :)

Well that's the PS2 Slim just arrived :)

And I see this as some sort of formal challenge :)

Slightly shocked at how tiny it is.
That just leaves one parcel out there in the wilderness :)

It's possibly the one Playstation I don't own. The PS2 fat was the desired version for a long time for it's PATA IDE interface to install disc games to HDD. Today I *think* you can run games from USB stick so the slim is probably not the unloved ginger stepchild it once was.
Edit: I just checked I don't have a (working) PS3 SuperSlim or PS3 Phat. I acquired both mine with YLOD thinking I could fix them and couldn't.

I have 2 working Phat PS3's. One just needed the plastic 're-forming' after it melted and stopped the fan running, the other had a YLOD and I was a bit gutted because the cases were slightly different.
However I did fix the YLOD, it was a TOKIN capacitor problem, see here:
Bad TOKINS so you may yet be able to fix one or both of them.
I discovered it was the TOKINs by warming them up, and it booted when warm but not when cold. They are horrible to remove.
ZEDLABZ has replacements for the TOKINs, which is where I got mine from.
Unfortunately I can't tell yet if this PS2 works as I need to sort out power and video since i have no cable. I can always rig up a bench PSU but no video cable is a tougher problem, though I have one on order now.

I have one of these. Not great but cheap.

I nearly bought one of those, but just went for a composite cable as it fits better into my current environment.

Well I hope the video lead arrives soon. I hooked up one of my bench PSUs and get this:

A standby light. OK that's promising. I hit the power button and get this:

And the fan spins. Seller said it didn't power up at all, but it looks like it may do, so a video lead would be very helpful right now.
One thing that does seem dead is the CD drive, which does nothing at all, even when the lid closed button is pressed, so more investigation required.

For the PS2 Slim you can use a router with USB socket to load games via OPL.
I don't have to hand the model I use, but it's about the size of cigarette packet and I power it from PS2 USB. Then use one of those tiny large capacity USB sticks.
Also MemCard Pro 2 is good. I've not played with mine yet, but with a modified OPL it will auto load in the save file for that game. It also works with PS2.
UPDATE : It is a TP Link TL-WR902AC

Thanks for the info, will look into that when I get it up and running :)

So after more poring over the PS2 Slim innards, it turns out there are 2 interlock switches for the CD drive, not just one.
The front of the door has one that is obvious and on the same PCB as the power switch, but the hinge end of the door also has one at the back of the board.
When I operate both, the CD drive spins up, so that's a win :)
Well it will be if it works
