That's the one you suggested and I bought when I thought there was an NSTC issue with my OSI 600.

So are you saying you use an S-Video cable from the normal display port of the C128 via that adapter to VGA or that you use an S-Video cable from the RGBI interface via that adapter?

I'm currently using a standard C64 style composite cable from the C128 to my Retrotink 2x Mini, but it will accept S-Video too.

So many adapters in my life...

@rubber_jonnie I use the S-Video cable that's on a special PCB that replaces the modulator but the S-Video cable you bought for your C64 should also do the job nicely and IMO looks so much better.

The RGBI uses a whole different interface for the 80 column mode.

You know what, I'd totally forgotten my C64 S-Video cable!! It's already plugged into my Retrotink too.

The video quality is considerably better, still a bit ghosty and with a few bars, but it is sharper. More pot twiddling awaits.

@PhilC

Just found this on eBay:

For £20 I thought it was worth a punt as it looks like it is RBGI to SCART, and whilst not ideal, will at least allow me to test and see how things look.

Also i did a composite/S-Video comparison, first image is composite:

2nd is S-Video:

Both via my Retrotink 2x Mini to HDMI.

For me the 2nd is definitely much better so I think I'll stick with the S-Video. I'm a dumbass though for forgetting I had a dual purpose C64/128 composite/S-Video cable...

@rubber_jonnie yes that cable is definitely worth a punt. I got my adaptor imported from the US and it works great but it's not cheap obviously.

I'll try and get a comparison of my screen later on if I get a mo.

Thanks.

Will see what the horrible CP/M screen looks like :)

And CP/M looks like this:

So despite what I said earlier, there are definite improvements here so long as I use S-Video.

Both the composite and the s-video leads you have there seem to be ringing, giving you ghosting. You may need a ferrite core on them or get better cables.

Worth a try. Both my standard composite cables do the same, one does double duty as S-Video, and both shots were taken on the double cable.

Not sure if I have any ferrite cores lying around, I'll have a look but worth a shot.
