I bought one elk which arrived with 16V DC psu, and it just worked.

I think Ideally, knowing the actual voltage, board side, straight after the power supply would really nail it.
If that isn't known and if we really want a precise measurement, then it'll be a case of finding out the size of the smoothing capacitor on the rectifier circuit and try to figure out therefore how fast the voltage drops in between the sine peaks and calculate a mean voltage. :)

Lets just say I sold my 'scope many moons ago, so that wont be happening! (Thats if I even had a 19VAC PSU to test!)

I'm guesstimating a 16VDC average, peak to drop mainboard side, but this may be wrong and I don't know what would need this on the board. (I would expect the usual 12v for motors/5v for the board components DC power lines, so wonder if there's something that actually uses AC in there, like e.g. the C=64 SID chip, that maybe gets stepped down and split off before the rectifier stage??).

Hope I'm making sense here. My electronics theory is very rusty. :lol:

Well, got one of these on the way, ElkSD64:
