Just having a quick trawl through eBay's vintage computing section, and boy are some of the prices insane.

There are boxed games on cassette (Not sealed BTW) with prices upwards of £1000 or more, and some of the hardware on there, that I have in my collection, is going for similar or higher. I mean £800 for an A5000, £900 for an Octane. Way higher than what I paid.

I know people sometimes put up strange/high prices on eBay, and prices are not always realised, but these seem genuinely daft, good job I was sitting down when I looked.

Apparently it's all 'rare' now...

I think some people may be looking to get themselves out of debt by selling their retro stuff and think that they can hike the price and people will pay.

These are desperate times.

Of course, they won't sell because most people don't have the money any more.

I think there is an aspect of that to it for sure, but it also seems to me that there is also just good old fashioned greed involved...

Getting busy inside the Apple IIe now I've added a parallel card in slot 1:

Just leaves slot 1 for a serial card once I can get one at a reasonable price.
