Yeah have been considering that as well. Cura has a lot more options to break stuff than flashprint.
It is not printing to bad currently, but I swear half the settings do not actually do anything in the software.I'm trying to figure out why the base of the print is larger than the rest of it still.

@exxos might be due to the initial layer height as the idea is to squeeze the first layer onto the print bed for better adhesion?

I thought that.. but changing the height seems to make no odds or the flowrate to 50%. I thought maybe because of shrinkage and the first layers been fixed to the bed that was not shrinking as much.. Going from 120c to 65c bed temp made no odds either.
I have lowered the bed a fraction..
lowering bed 1 screw indent
4.52mm to 4.65mm height (supposed to be 5mm but its ABS)
The problem seems to have been reduced this time. Going to order some metal shims of various sizes from somewhere.. Thickness of the card they supplied is 0.18mm but I think something like 0.25mm would be better by the looks of it.

Printing all day again.. Seems the calibration cards they send with the printer is pretty rubbish. It measures about 0.17mm thick but when it prints out there is almost no bottom layer there is that thin. So I folded the card over and recalibrated approximately 0.37mm.. And things are almost perfect now!
I think the bulge at the bottom was simply down to the filament not being able to flow on the very first layers. So it increase pressure which got released on subsequent layers causing the bulges.

Considering as well I am printing at a 0.8 mm layer height with a 0.4 nozzle with ABS..I think it has turned out really well..

I have a odd problem where either the X or Y is wrong. When I print a square, X=24.72mm , Y=24.50mm. The stl is 24.80mm. So Y axis is out the most. Do you know why this happens ?
The belts seem tight, but it could be anything..
Y axis has belts all over the place...
Rear motor belt drives a rod to the left and right belts for Y movements...

So either Y is to small, or X is to big :stars: :shrug:

Does your firmware have the facility to calibrate the extruder?
Also there seems to be some inconsistencies in the layer positions although minor. One thing to check is if a belt is too tight it will also have detrimental effects on the print.
I have a couple of spare but new motherboards, btt etc. I can send you one to try?

The Y-axis is on those spring things in the belt, so can't really do much with those. I could slacken the motor off which drives them, that's on a fixed belt.

I may have to change the board if there's no solution. Though i've no idea which is a "good" board with gives the best settings ? I have one spare board I got for my paste printer, can't remember what it was off-hand. I guess I could try that one if its got the right connectors on it for a straight swap.

@exxos, sounds like you need to recalibrate and calculate your steps/mm for your stepper motors.

There is no options in the software to do that though :(
