The first repair in the new outbuilding begins... after the first furniture arrives.

Looks like the B&W TV I bought needs recapping...

And the on/off switch has now stopped turning off.

It was in 1972. No valves at all!

Had another look at the telly. It seems I wired up the aerial connector incorrectly and soldered the outside of the coax to the TV ground. This was why the power switch wasn't working as that switches the GND connection and the BBC Master was connecting that and switching the TV on.

Also, the waviness on the display wasn't apparent if the computer was connected via the loop aerial connector. Hmm...

Fixed the first issue but I'm going to have to re-wire it again as there's a lot of interference causing it to wobble. I probably have the connections the wrong way around and need to use a bit of coax.

Anyway, I got the linearity fixed as well, so no recapping required.

I've put that on hold for a few days as I'm starting to think about getting thing ready for ECM in 5.5 weeks time. Tried out the "new" Jaguar controller and it's fine, so that system is all ready.

Cool - never knew there was a version of Worms for the jaguar...makes me wish I'd bought one when they were being virtually given away...

I bought my jaguar for a tenner from Electronics Boutique around 2000? 2001? I remember hearing the rumour and me and a friend went to see what was up. Total score.

I swapped my ST for a Jag around 1997. It was cheaper to re-buy an ST or two in the long run. I really must buy a JagDrive one day.
Your Jag's case looks really shiny. Have you used any kind of restorer on it?

No restorer, it was just hardly used by the original owner
