@rubber_jonnie
I really don't regret this purchase and I warmly recommend this machine to every enthusiast.
And yes, prices are steep even in Japan.
A fully-refurbished XVI (same model as mine) costs now around £935 (without keyboard and mouse), and an EXPERT, sold as "junk", is around £349 (keyboard included).
Don't know if you can see this link in the UK, but just in case:

Let me know if you're interested as it will be easier for me to get one here, and shipping via surface from Japan is not really expensive.

I'd love to, and that price is great, as is your offer, but I can't justify that price just now :(
I'm about to pay for an Amiga 500 and though the price is way different, it means with other purchases of late it's a non starter...

Hi HigashiJun,
May I ask how to center the image? My Benq BL702a monitor is eating the bottom (I use RGB to VGA cable and auto adjustment doesn't help at all)..
Thanks!

It's been a while since my last post in this thread, but here are the last news.
A nice Sharp CZ-606D monitor just found its way to my home.
Only does 15 KHz/31 KHz (no 24 KHz), but considering very few programs use the 24 KHz mode, It doesn't bother me.
Here are some pictures:

Now have to explain my wife how the monitor got here...

Darling, remember how I was complaining about lag last week? Well, apparently the universe took it personally. I was just browsing for monitors online when a tiny rip in the space-time continuum opened above the desk. This exact monitor fell through from a parallel dimension. The delivery guy was a quantum fluctuation wearing an Amazon vest. He said ‘Sign here, alternate-universe you,’ handed me the box, and vanished in a puff of Schrödinger’s cat hair. I couldn’t exactly refuse it — that would’ve created a paradox. So… here we are. Science, babe.

Nice. Last time I tried to emulate one I couldn't get enough menus in English to work out what I was doing to load a game :)
