I've had my fingers crossed for so long now, I doubt I'll ever be able to use a pen again! :lol:

hehe.

Well, the chip's now here. It'll be a simple 2 minute job to swap them over as it's now socketed and I've not screwed the top on the C64.

Hehe. I'm not sure work would like that much, especially as my colleague is on holiday. :-)

Well I've installed the new chip and...

There

Are...

No changes. It's just the same.

I'm leaning towards the conclusion that it's a "feature" of this particular motherboard revision.

There are hints on-line that the 74LS74 can cause colour issues, so one more roll of the dice...
