DMA works on the TF536 on the CDTV and if DMA wasnt working at all the Floppy drive wouldnt work. There isnt any magic to it really.

Yeah -- that's what I mean about I can't see how the timings are so important (well, other than the 1us max bus relinquish period requirement of the floppy) -- but I've never got the floppy to work on my board at all. Any data's, therefore, good data when your starting point is FUBAR.

Just out of interest, TF, have you ever run an unaccelerated 030 board on the ST, like you started out with the 020 board on the A500? I'm wondering if the timing looks a lot less critical when the CPLD's & external chip are making their decisions at 6x the rate of the underlying hardware!

The TF536 runs unaccelerated all the time on TOS2.06. It only runs accelerated when accessing fast ram. (Repeating my self again for the 1000th time here).

Quick recap:

In the beginning there was the TF534... It had lots of issues because people wanted to run it at every speed from 25mhz to 50mhz... and it got hot.

So when i came to do the 030 card for the CD32 I fixed it at 50Mhz but switched down to 14Mhz for cpu access. Worked nice.

Then the cries came to do the same on the A500.. thus the TF536... Its sync with the chipset for everything except fastram access.

Ok folks I at least get a "C" drive appearing with this one on TOS2.06 with no ACSI interrupt wire.. please test and report.
HDD Driver just complains that it cant figure out the size of the disk.

Looks like the ST is expecting the data bus to be byte swapped.. But the TF536 isnt. Has anyone actually got this working on TOS2.06?

Can't get any drive to mount 4,8,16,and 32 gig compact flash cards(Transend 133x). Also tried a physical 2.5" drive. No go

Nor me but i've never been able to do that on an ST (except with EmuTOS).
