There is only 1 dtack ... It goes to every chip pretty much.. So take your pick.

yes I know, I thought you were talking about putting it between one chip and its dtack signal but its between dtack and ground then?

Dtack goes to one of the sip resistors arrays, which are pulled up to 5v. So you just need to put say 1k on the dtack and 5v pin.

The alpha is now more reliable as I can get to desktop the majority of times but still got the mouse pointer disappearing after a few mouse clicks or moving the pointer up to the menu bar.

1K fitted to Dtack on the 68000DIL socket adaptor, not sure if its helped or not but leaving it there just in case.

removed all the pots now and the only one that really makes any difference is the 2mhz line. The pot measured 181ohms, so I've put a 200ohm resistor between the 2mhz pin and the 3 pin header and thats helped my board with reliability. Also got no cap on the 16mhz line as it didn't seem to make much difference boot wise.

Just need to sort the desktop crash thing out. Which in itself is interesting. When I move the mouse up to the menu bar, it disappears BUT the CPU is not halted. Instead, if I press keys I still get the key press sound and have on a couple of occasions, seen the options box highlighted.

Will have a read through exxos's fault finding on this and see if this helps me at all.

that worked, although I've had similar results to you with loading a floppy. finally got Gembench to run though.

Is there a patch to try for the blitter?
