The SACD DSOM is one of the few I bought. My other favourite SACDs were Accentus - Transcriptions, and Roxy Music - Avalon.

That's why my brother in law wanted my old ps3 to play sacd. With the 20gig hd

Only got as far as Frankie goes to hollywood, Genesis invisible touch, Abacab. Might have to look for DSOM as well :)

War of the Worlds, Wish you were here, DSOTM and Brothers in arms here. I'm planning on getting more. Alan Parsons, Doobies and Supertramp are on the hit list. But, most players handle DVDa and they are pretty easy to get hold of online. the DSOTM DVDa is better than the SACD. The leaked one is supposedly for the original AP masters.

I would have to recap my luxman amp to turn those selections up. These new amps dont have any jam

I have the Oppo running into a Marantz SR5005 and some 80's EPI speakers I rebuilt. Lots of jam. :lol: Still spin the vinyl too.

Been somewhat quiet lately, in part because I have been working on stock items continuously, but secondly my hands been in agony for the past couple of months so really trying to not do too much lately. I also had a lot of breakdowns on my van lately as well which has been keeping me rather busy :roll: I have not been sleeping much with all this heat lately as well :cry:

I have been trying to fit a larger SSD in my PC the past couple of days.. A 860 EVO... Long story short, it seems no end of people have been having problems with AMD's 990 series chipset.. Which is what my motherboard has :roll: I kept getting random freezes, like there was a bad cable, but I swapped cables around loads of times. while doing various file benchmarks, it always seemed to freeze in the same place, or when doing backups it always got to a certain point then froze.

There does not seem to be a solution for this, so I looked through my bits box and found this old SATA card.

Which then brought me onto the next problem that it did not physically fit in the PC because the chipset heatsink was in the way :roll:


So the quick fix was to just break some things off and remove the stupid top nameplate of the block..
I cannot use the bottom part because the heatsink is in the way bought I only wanted one port anyway...


so picked up the drive straight away which was good luck !


but it was short lived as Windows did not have the driver :roll:

So running file benchmark once again and it actually completed this time!


Now one of my backups of the day is well underway..

Just for completeness, this is my 850 PRO on the MB chipset...

I just noticed this and thought it was interesting....

Not so much the scales, but look at the discolouration on the right-hand side of it! Granted there is some shadowing because of their LED lighting in my room, but the discolouration is very noticeable!

These scales have always been kept behind my monitor, also shown below, but the monitor base does get a little warm, and this must be why that side of the scales has become discoloured over time.. The left-hand side of the scales is just on the desk which does not get warm.

So I thought this was interesting as the mechanisms as to why cases become discoloured. I should also point out that behind my monitor is never in direct sunlight, or in fact in sunlight at all because the monitor, PC, wall and curtains all shield it from even basically daylight.

This also explains why my Falcon became discoloured despite being on top of my cupboards for some years, and even covered up under a bunch of other crap. I said in another post some months back that I suspected it was heat alone, and of course as he rises, the top of the shelf is the ideal place to get warm.

I'm not saying sunlight isn't a factor, but the experiments so far I have done on this show that direct sunlight actually lightens up plastic rather than This colours it. In both cases (Pun intended) neither were exposed to anything but dim daylight.

I think it was @rubber_jonnie You mentioned a while ago about this explanation does not entirely make sense because heat inside cases would surely make things warmer than on the outside.. But possibly there is just simply more heat on the outside and with normal equipments there is usually ventilation holes would help keep things cool as well.. Of course some people overheating on hotter than the fires of hell anyway :lol:

That's getting replaced though, so not anymore!

I have not seen any evidence to say the heat from the power supply can discolour a case.. But it is likely very possible.. Going by all the houses I have visited over the years, absolutely everybody has the heating on full pelt all the time. I think this is really the contributing factor to cases becoming discoloured.
