Need to do some code clean-ups... I added in a 1 second timer onto it, think it was something to do with keeping a LED on longer, but can't remember now :lol: :roll:
Next I need to try the keyboard LED mod...

First crappy LED run..
LED lights up YELLOW on floppy access as normal. When IDE is accessed it lights up GREEN.. I realise now what the delay line was for, because if the hard drive is only accessed briefly, you cannot see the LED is on...
In this video you can see on power up the floppy drive is accessed and LED lights up yellow as normal, then I run a hard drive benchmark program which keeps the drive active so you can see the green LED light up..
As mentioned previously, this PCB is a prototypes and does not turn the green LED off fully but this should be fixed with the next batch of boards..

A bit better video showing operation... I had to delay the IDE LED otherwise it would never be seen as it happens so fast.. The small side effect is it can still show green while its actually accessing the floppy for a second.. not a big deal.. but its the only way to really show that IDE was accessed.
Video shows copying a load of files from A: to C: :)
EDIT:
Bodged on a preset so I could experiment with green led on times, and got it looking even better now :) Basically dropped the delay from 1second to 0.3sec.

So took the keyboard apart AGAIN, as found I had the later LED mod boards made already. So now the green LED staying on a bit is solved!
I think the PCB is to bit to big to fit where I have it.. probably will have to be stuck on the back of KB PCB and run the 3 wires to the LED instead...
Had to drill the plastic down a bit as the LED legs overhang the LED body :roll:

It's a pity that Trudie IDE won't be released before Christmas. In 2021 all items from exxos from the store will be more expensive :twisted:
But I congratulate England for breaking away from the EU, there is more and more muck there. We, Poles, will lose out on this: :evil:

I am doing some tweaks to the board.. Mostly this comes down to that there will be a 5V and 3.3V version.. As mentioned previously, the 3.3V version will be lower price as 3.3V stuff is... But with most people not reading what they are buying, I can foresee someone plugging in a cheaper 3.3V board into a 5V socket and blowing it up.. So firstly I am looking at a protection chip which should solve this problem as it will turn off if the voltage is too high.
The past couple of days I decided to totally re-write the firmware. Basically because the original (well current) design was only intended to be of use on a 8MHz bus. But as faster CPUs can be used in conjunction with fast ram, it needs some small changes so Trudie can run at higher speeds properly.
I hope not long after Christmas the eight boards I have here will be in my store. These will be 5V versions, and will be at a reduced price because they are basically more like prototypes than the final version.. But as said above, the only "issue" is they will only run on a 8MHz bus correctly.
I am also trying to come up with a PCB which will work on 5V or 3.3V.. (I have to solder the PLD myself eitherway) but I am hoping that all a 3.3 V version will need is a slightly different firmware than the 5V version.. I don't want to stock 2 different boards, I just want to stock 1 board and flash it to work on 3.3V or 5V.. but of course the PLD will be 5V or 3.3V as well. But it doesn't create any extra work in that respect. So I want to keep the PCB overall the same for both voltages.
As a side note, these boards are intended to work on the H4 / H5 boards. While the 5V ones will work on original machines, I don't really intend to officially support them or write any guides for install etc. But the basic setup would basically be plug and play anyway. 3.3V ones will be cheaper as basically I want to give a "reward" to H5 builders for supporting the project and getting us to the point of being able to use a 3.3V bus!
