...and the TF534 boots DiagROM attached to the adapter. At least some of the time. Quite often it freezes at:
Code: Select all
- Checking for A3000/A4000 Motherboardmemory
And the keyboard freaks out and does not work. Could be that my keyboard has given up, as well. Will check that later :)

DiagROM works with mouse, at least You can navigate menu..

Yeah, I alternated between using the mouse and the serial connection. I’ll test the keyboard without the adapter installed tomorrow. It worked great a week ago, but it’s been connected and disconnected a number of times since then.

BTW, does anyone know if the positions of the CPU, ROM and hard drive mounting holes differ between different revisions of the A600? I'm thinking about how to attach the adapter in a more secure way.

According to
http://amiga.resource.cx/mod/a600.html
No CPU/rom/HDD holes are all in same position

Thanks! I took the four images and layered them with some transparency and it sure looks like they didn't move.

I'm getting the same issues on the A600 with the adapter as on the A500 now... As in DiagROM works well, but KS 3.1 and 3.1.4 does not.
Makes me think the adapter is all good.

You could measure just using a caliper or even taking a design from thingiverse and measure the stl file. :)

Sounds too easy, must be a trap.
Regarding using the ROM socket as a mounting point for the adapter... The height is a problem... Put machined pin legs in the socket and measured across a PLCC socket stuck on the CPU and they are not the same height. I also checked the two kinds of PLCC socket I have, and they are different heights as well.
I suppose you could add an extra PCB between the PLCC socket and the adapter, but it wouldn’t be pretty.
Pity. I had plans of integrating a Diagrom on the board 😄

Proof of concept:
Received an Adapter from user Kludge, and tested it on an A6oo.. well.. actually it's A3oo...

Fired it up and....what can i say....it works!!!

Need to admit, im getting freezes at the moment, and this can be due several reasons:
1. my a6oo isnt in best shape (board was very damaged with leaked cap acid)
2. Adapter is a bit wobbly, we need to relocate some traces, do a hole for a screw and figure out how to make it more stable
3. Maybe resistors on the Adaprer have wrong values, need to experiment with this, but hey! Its booting on full speed with proper ram configuration! I like this one!!!
