Girlfriend got the best theory. Basically posting AI cat videos. Facebook had a new rule last year which nobody knew about it seems. Basically if your post AI content you have to label it as AI. Not my content, I only reposted others funny cat videos. Post to often = banned it seems. Like even just 5 will do it.

They could have added a pop-up that says:

“Hey, this video looks AI-generated, want us to label it for you?"

Instead they chose the Stasi option: watch, wait, punish.

They parade to scare the next million into scanning their face...

So yeah… when a company acts more authoritarian than an actual authoritarian regime, you’ve officially entered the corporate police state.
And the worst part? They’ll do it again next month with a new secret rule.

I feel a new song coming on..

Just need people to upload videos of you dancing to the chicken song in full costume, holding your name up on a paper and today's newspaper to prove its you.. After upload, will ban you for non-compliance. But thanks for the vid ! (not)

The funny thing about all this to me is that I post politically charged content on
Facebook all the time. I'm sure you've seen it Chris. So far, I've never been banned
or warned, AFAIK.

However, I've never posted a cat video. :)

The ID thing makes me think of something I just went through here in the US. As
everyone knows, I just attended the VCF Midwest 2025 show in Chicago, IL. I live
in Prestonsburg, KY, so it's about an 8 hour drive roughly. So I fly. I actually like
flying. Point is, my driver's license used to pass for ID at the airports but after May
of 2025 it doesn't. I had to get a new, special kind of driver's license called "Real ID".

I had to present the following at the Department of Motor Vehicles in order to qualify
for "Real ID":

1. Old driver's license
2. Birth certificate (original - photocopies not accepted)
3. Social Security Card
4. Utility bill showing my name and current address
5. Test report from a licensed optometrist showing that you
are capable of driving. (if you don't have that, they will
actually perform a vision test there at the DMV).

Then, you don't even receive it - it comes via the mail in a few weeks or so.

the movie.

In mean Facebook used to be a lot of fun back in the beginning. These days it's just a meme sharing platform. Lots of my posts were jokes and got deleted because they wasn't factually correct :roll: now get banned for sharing videos.

The only thing I really used Facebook for was the messenger.But message to many people in your friends list and you get banned. Facebook is a social network which bans you for being social. Not like I'm even a social person in the first place.

Companies already have emails and phone numbers. It makes sense to a point. But wouldnt be surprised if Zuckerberg is using peoples faces to train AI.. I mean he downloads loads of P*rn and said it was for personal use.. Plus he has a VR company..

Facebook is bad for malware in adverts. I block them as it's the only way to be safe. But Facebook is ransomware. Locked out until you give them at they want..

I don't know if it's the same with Microsoft windows.. But at least they let you windows for a few days without a serial number. Facebook could have done the same.. Nagscreen or baneed in 30 days. Not just banned goodbye.

I've been thinking of deleting my Facebook for years. But I kept in touch with old work mates etc who are not on any other platforms. They will wonder what's happened to me.. Also admin of 2 groups which will now die as i can't approve new members or posts anymore. Its not even me who suffers in all this. Its others.

Sometimes I post stuff on FB I don't post here. Sometimes useful to look back for images etc. While I mostly post funny cat videos, there's other stuff which I no longer have access to. Like local community Facebook groups. Was useful to ask people stuff like breakdown recovery services etc.. Mostly I don't read anything as I'm sick and tired of the endless sarcasm and abuse in groups which is never taken care of.

30 years gone now. A shame but its not like I didn't expect it. Would have been nicer to have been given notice not police state tactics. No thanks. The message is loud and clear. Chapter closed. Over and out.

Ah yep. I used to advertise on Facebook many years ago. Cost me lots of money.. Got banned..

Annoying as well as some people are no longer on this plane of existence and chat history is all I have of them now.. I cannot even access my profile whatsoever to even recover some things without falling victim to Facebook's ransomware tactics.. What a choice...... Well not playing the game is how I look at things these days... They already have my email and phone number and godknows what else. I am not giving them videos of myself as they will probably still ban me anyway. That's what google did to me.

Well here's a plot twist. I have my account back!!

I went on Facebook to take more screenshots and document the video screen which wanted me to video me moving my head all ways.. Only it was gone!

I now had a screen which wanted me to put my face in a circle. The camera was on and because I'm the only person who uses their tablet on landscape mode, I couldn't see what it said. I was trying to scroll down to read it and saw my ugliness flash up in the circle..

Then it took a screenshot itself and the screen vanihed and got replaced with this...


I was still awake at 4am and thought this is a later problem..

"Woke up" just and a message popped up saying they found no community violations and my profile has been reinstated!!

So WTF was all it about in the first place?!

Loads of posts and videos for past months saying people being banned from Facebook and Instagram. One said if you get banned off one meta product you get banned off them all.

Turns out I had added my girlfriend to my ex work group page as a moderator 12 months ago.. She said she wasn't! So she couldn't have looked very hard! :roll:

Anyway, I deleted all my posts from the past couple months assuming something there was the trigger. But someone on YouTube said he was banned and didn't even post or like anything etc.

I've sent out requests to add some more people to admin on the groups I run to safeguard the future. I'll go ask people for their emails addresses later should all this happen again!

I'll limit what I post and do to near nothing. Not like I post much past funny videos which nobody cares about anyway.

So at least I can watch funny cat videos while my PC compiles something for the millionth time.. I can also see in the chat what my girlfriend has spammed me with that day.. So all is well again.. For now....
