There might be a few people who would debate you on how "good" that really is.

Thanks, I love my STacy!

Lonny and Tillek already know about this but it's a story that bears repeating.

While going through the TSA checkpoint at Chicago's O'Hare airport:

The strap on my Atari STacy's carrying case got caught in the carry-on conveyor and caused a temporary jam.
The TSA agents were fascinated with the STacy. So much so that they ran it through the scanner not once, but twice.

One agent said, "What is that thing, a dinosaur?". If they only knew...

I didn't realize that Jeff Geerling, the Raspberry Pi YouTuber, was a retro enthusiast. Looks like he was at VCF Midwest...he just commented on my video, so cool.

While I'm totally amazed at the things at a typical VCF show, I'm also
amazed at how much I manage to miss. Even after I walked around
the floor multiple times.

Like the original Amiga thing, I never did find my way there. Ugh.

I guess there's just so much going on and with all the time/work
needed for a persons' own display, it happens.

Here are a few videos of my modified Atari STacy from VCF Midwest 2025.

This first one is the game Gauntlet II running on the STacy. Simultaneously, we had it playing on another LCD screen via the STacy's external color monitor port.

Double the screens, double the fun! :)

(unfortunately, because of the way it was filmed, Youtube placed this as a "short")

The second one is the STacy playing Spectrum 512 pictures (by Anima) while music from a MOD based on the game Xenophobe is being played. The music is actually coming from an audio CD.

The third video shows my Atari STacy running the Ambience demo. The STacy has a color LCD via the RGB2HDMI mod. Audio is provided through a small modification that brings the signal out from the Yamaha sound chip to an external RCA jack. This is then plugged into a LG XBOOM Go P7 Portable Bluetooth Speaker, which takes the mono signal and does simulated stereo. The demo is pretty impressive considering that it's running from a single floppy disk. :)

This is one of the things I was doing with my Atari STacy at the VCF Midwest 2025 computer show. I was using a secondary VGA port on the replacement LCD screen to feed in and show DVD's on the STacy's screen. Never let a working port go to waste, I say! :)
