I think I did look at them. I don't know which one was which but they seem to in general only like cars under 10 years old and at a premium for under 15 years..

Both are vehicles or 22 years old.. My mum's Nissan looks like brand new still outside and under the bonnet. It's well looked after and hardly does any mileage. my van it's been really good condition and I only done 49k. They are still 22 years old though.

My last van was a year older but still the same sort and that was in way worse condition. I think pretty much everything have been replaced or bodged at some point :lol: It was still running but I noticed the power steering started making a funny noise after visiting my girlfriend on the weekends. long story short or the oil disappeared out of the engine and ended up in the radiator :lol: :roll: The radiator was full of black treacle . Never seen anything like it before. I decided it just wasn't worth messing around with any more. Not like any garage wanted to investigate it either anyway.

Anyway, point being, that I probably wouldn't go with a monthly subscription anyway because the vehicles have been looked after.. Low mileage should mean they should not really break down any time soon, but again they are 22 years old.. I wouldn't expect anything major for the next several years.

It is why I was more looking for a recovery service because even if I ended up paying a lot out for recovery, over the years it would still be cheaper than paying out monthly for subscription for something I may never use.

I don't generally do long mileage runs anyway. I generally stick to local work.. so my mother could technically tow me back home. Or vice versa. The only rrql problem really is driving for two hours to go to a rerro events.. If I break down in Northhampton, i am royally screwed.. It's generally the main reason I've been reluctant to go to the events so far..

Britannia rescue are pretty good.

I've found about 3 possibilities local.. Problem is none will give me a solid price really :roll: It seems the done thing is to ring up and for quotes when you break down :roll:

One guy said it's £48 call out charge and about £1.60 per mile. So at least I can do something with that figure. I guessed miles to and from point of breakdown. So assume worst case be somewhere around £350. So at least I have a ballpark figure now.

Half the places don't even reply. Some websites don't even work. The ones I found reply quick, so I take that as a good thing. I asked on Facebook for recommendations rather than looking on the internet as was just getting nowhere.
