Re: problem with dfb1X

Like others, I suspect this isn't a DFB1X problem explicitly, but it's possible the longer data path (from the expansion port) or the added capacitance on the buses is the cause.
You don't seem to say explicitly, but I assume with the DFB1X removed it works?
Two things I would suggest.
Test 1: assuming the above (that it works with DFB1X removed) does it work with DFB1X disabled (farther right jumper set)?
Test 2: try to source a ridiculously short IDE cable. The shortest you can manage to fit both the DVD and HD on. It's not permanent, it's a test.
If test 2 works, there are inline IDE buffer boards you can buy.

IIRC 11 bombs is a line-F exception, which is common when the data bus is undriven (FFs all around).eric123 wrote: 20 Sep 2024 21:44 when I put my CF card reader or an HDD as master and my DVD burner as slave on the IDE port, I get at startup under the Atari logo "warning: bad rom crc in chip E."if I remove the slave everything works correctly
and it resets constantly or I get 11 bombs.
