I can't even use most joysticks anymore as hurts my hands. The only one I can remotely use is "the bug". I tried to use the 2600 stick a few years back and thought nope..I remember it being iffy from new.

The 2600 joystick is about as anti-ergonomic as possible. The triangular stick which needs muscles of steel to push it around. Rubbish.

I’ve got a bug joystick I need to fix. It’s in nice condition but doesn’t go right but then it’s got one of those grey plugs as well. I’ll try fix it ready for CL2

Weren't the grey plugs used for Sinclair specific joysticks? I think I have a Sinclair stick somewhere that has a dual ended lead, one grey plug for Sinclair only, and a black one for standard applications.

Not sure why they did it that way, I suppose they probably wanted to ensure people would buy Sinclair joysticks and not generic ones.

I have a couple of Atari 7800 joypads and quite like them. Far from perfect, but far from the worst I've used too.

@rubber_jonnie yes I think it was a Sinclair thing. I just need to see why it don’t go right but can always put a new cable onto it I guess,

The five second un-boxing and then playing a little Phoenix with the original cartridge

So basically you get a 10 in one cartridge, a HDMI cable, and a joystick. No power adapter. Though I guess these days everyone has a USB adapter anyway. But my God imagine this being 30 years ago and having the thing without a power adapter on Christmas Day

I wish I kept my original scores book from when I was like 14 to see what scores I actually got up to years ago

I need to find my "auto flopper" as pressing fire continuously is not very good for the hands

Looks amazing man! I'm tempted to buy one! I have a good working joystick that I put and original centre column in. I miss Q-Bert!

Managed to hit 23,000 or thereabouts. Though I've noticed a "bug" in this new 2600+

First off, my Autoflobber was faulty. So had to change the 555! Bow down to my teenage years circuit building!

Problem being, even when the autofire isolate switch is flipped on, it still continues to fire according to the 2600+ but not on the joystick fire LED! Hence the lack of screenshot of my huge highscore of the day! :( The original 2600 did not do this. So not sure whats going on there.
