Maybe it's just me but I think we're talking apples and oranges here with overclocking the DSP of an Atari STe/Falcon. @Steve is overclocking an Atari Falcon DSP and @marbosar77 is referring to an Atari STe.

@coonsgm I was referring to an Atari Falcon: "in about a year (don't ask me why ;) ) I will be a possessor of a Falcon as well.
I am going to use this last one as a controller to produce music". ;)

@Steve I'm looking for a proper cmos oscillator, but joska's has not clearly mentioned if it has to be dil 8 or dil 14: which one have you installed? Also, he says that you have to connect the wire to 5V, so the new oscillator has to be 5V and not 3.3V, is that right?
And how did you perform the soldering? On the upper side or the bottom side of the motherboard?
It would be so kind from you if you could post a few pictures of your DSP modification :roll:

I don't have any photos and I don't really want to dismantle my Falcon. Just get a 5v crystal oscillator. 4 pin. On the upper side. I followed the same guide, it's rather well written, you should be ok.

Ok @Steve thank you again.
@HigashiJun so the green wire goes from 5V of the oscillator to the....? Forgive me but I don't quite understand. In joska's website it is indicated to solder the wire to the capacitor C121, but in your pictures the wire goes to the opposite direction...

To one pin of the 14MB ram board (the first upper one from the right hand of the board), but you can solder it to any +5V source on the motherboard, like one of the capacitors above the DSP.
Just remember to fit a heatsink on the DSP and/or on the 3 RAMS below the DSP, as @Steve has recommended.
