I only learnt recently by watching The Big Bang Theory that Americans don't pronounce the L in solder.

Us English say it as Solder as in holder.

I thought they used to say "sod her" , and I was thinking sod who ?! :lol:

I may have had 'incidents' that resulted in pain, injury and scorching, but I never did that. At least not deliberately...

Sorry if I caused offence, but I vaguely remembered your 'juggling' a soldering iron incident from many years ago & thought an oblique reference might be appropriate...possibly not!

That's one of the biggest problems with autism - not being able to reliably judge what is acceptable from what is going too far.

Like I'd ever take offence at the idea I might burn myself with soldering irons :) To be fair I've not done it a lot lately on account of my much better workbench setup at the new house, and not so many projects on the go, but there's still plenty of scope for it to happen.

I also burn myself on my desoldering gun, my hot air wand and things I've recently heated up with my hot air wand, so there's plenty of fodder there for another day!!!
