@exxos - any idea when they will appear in stock?
I've got a few items in my basket & will add at least one when they are available & then place the order...no rush (from me) though! Anytime this year will be good ;)

I'll try and do some next week but I got delayed with the server attacks and all the faffing about has set my hands off again :( Maybe I can manage the desoldering station.. I'll try..

Don't risk making your hands worse on my account! Quite happy with whenever you can manage it without causing additional pain & suffering (to yourself at least ;))!

If I remember rightly someone actually visited BEST electronics to buy stuff. But I don't remember who that was now..
But basically I want to bulk by some cartridge connectors, Brad was charging $9.95 for them last time I checked :( But this cartridge port situation is frankly ridiculous. I need a source of them other than removing them from motherboards all the time.
I don't think Brad wants to ship a lot of items overseas and I cannot buy directly because he only accepts PayPal.
I really could do with someone known /trusted here who could go and buy like 100 connectors and ship them to me in the UK.

This company make custom milspec connectors. Although very expensive for hobby use. Might be cheaper for the quantities you're talking about.
I tried to get 10 (finger in the air number when they wanted info for the quote) Spectrum edge connectors made and they quoted me c. £100 each IIRC :lol:
It took them 3 weeks to get back to me. I think they could sense 'waste of time' :D

EDIT:
Well they used to make those sort of things - not sure they still do

@chronicthehedgehog I could give them a try ...
I think the problem is a lot of the cost is tooling /setup. I think it gets to the point where you really have to order like a minimum of 1,000 connectors to make the cost per connect to something reasonable.

Emailed them. The problem is I don't think there is a technical breakdown of this connector :( but I sent them some images and asked if they could give me some idea what the cost would likely be.
I mean if they are charging £100 per connector, for 10, then that would really suggest that their setup charge is £1,000. The cost of materials manufacturing the connector is probably near nothing in comparison.
I mean if I have to order 1,000 connectors even at £1 each, plus £1,000 setup... Still works at a rather large investment :( but realistically ordering 100 connectors from BEST by the time shipping and tax has been added on probably isn't going to be much different anyway.
