Thanks. But now it seems there is no eprom programmer with the right PLCC adapter for this chip, and this requires a custom adapter :(

I have a bunch of Hitachi UV erasable ROMS, I use them to make and test dual TOS images since the OTP ROMs are very expensive to ruin with untested images.

The main problem with them (At least the ceramic ones I have) is that the legs are not well supported and quite flimsy, so they sometimes need to be tinkered with in order to get a good contact and that is not exactly good for the legs.

I use a TL866 Pro BTW, with the 2 wire modification to the adapter.

I found that some of the more expensive programmers already support these chips with their optional adapter pack. The Willem GQ-4X costs ~U$120 with the adapters. Not claiming it is worth, or not. Just sharing what I found when looking for adapters.

On a related note. I understand that nobody makes flashable ST carts, right? I mean an ST cartridge based on flash ROM that can be written by software without even removing the cart.

Am I the only one that would like such product?

Kind of... TOri made a cart but its not eprom and the content is kept alive with battery. But nobody is making them to sell as far as I know.

You're not the only one. Many many years ago, I made this: https://forum.atari-home.de/index.php?a ... 0814;image. It is programmed via a USB-to-serial cable from the development PC. But I only made a batch of 10. Even that was hard to sell. So it's a dead project now. Sorry.

Yeah, about the same thing. I would buy it if available :(
As a matter of fact, something even without the battery could be (more or less) useful for some testing purposes.

Oh, what a pity! It was hard to sell, probably because at that time you wasn't so well known in the Atari scene :)
