Yeah. Fine line between the two I guess

There is a little bit of room above the CPU. On the V1 STE booster there is a 3-D printed spacer which goes above the board which presses down on the metal shielding to keep it in place.

So instead of the pink spacer, there is the SMT PLCC44 ROM Socket. They probably still will be some sort of similar printed part to push down on the board but it will go round the outside of the socket or pins or something instead.

It's that front edge of the socket I'm thinking about -- the angle really plays against you. I suppose if it's too tight you could forgo the socket and directly mount the chip, though.

Yep indeed. I will have a better look later. But the ROM has to really go there anyway.

Afraid this is custom for STE only, not MSTE.

Hi there, there is any timeframe for this board version to be available to purchase?
I guess this board would allow to be installed with a closed STE case, and that's what I'm looking for.
I'm also looking for a TwiSTer board if a TF536 is not available, but I would prefer a TF option if available.

Thanks in advance,

Agv

Afraid I have no idea. Only just started it really. Have to finish designing the PCB, then order, build and test, likely do another respin then a production run. Won't be done this year.
