@Steve any chance you made a photo at some point that shows the reference you use?

Otherwise, I notice on the Sunon Product search page that there are many different wattages but all inferior to the original fan (which is at 12V x 0.12A = 1.44 W).

The search could also be narrowed down bu bearing type: BALL / SLEEVE / VAPO, but I have no idea what they mean, i-e which one is the most silent.

Sorry to bump this thread - but I'm also finally fixing my Falcon up (having given up on getting a Pico PSU to reliably start my CT63, and wiring in a Meanwell instead) and hit the same issue when I put in a Noctua 40mm. Somehow, the fan is actually 12mm (Z?) rather than 10mm, despite the advertising - I'm putting in a Sunon, but it seems odd that the Noctua is misdescribed.
