There is no STE video recap kit, the only fix I did was the ghosting issue.

It was a stray bit of wire lol.

Found the culprit, it’s a loose connection on the video input, this one had a knock so the case smashed and you provided me with a new case. Soldered the joint and all fine :)

But where? The reason all of us want to know when a problem is fixed is because it adds to the common knowledge, so that we're able to have more insight for the next person who ends up with a similar issue.

As @troed said, which wire? We try and share all knowledge of any faults here so they can help others. Also, is this stray wire the cause of the white screen problem?

Sorry for the late reply as I have been out for the day.

I fitted a drive swap switch and was a little stupid cutting/ trimming the wire to solder it onto the pins on the Yamaha chip. I used a can of compressed air to blow out under all the chips on the board and bot of wire came out.

After doing this I rechecked the tracked, plugged in the power supply and she fired up!

The video issue was down to a bad connection on the monitor port, this ST was very damaged in transit and it must of taken a hit on that side causing it to break. Resoldered the joint and all done.

So far so good and no issues.

Hope that helps others out...the main lesson learnt don’t cut wires over a board that can then short out connections! :? :oops:
