Another vote for KiCad. As of v5, it's really good.
If you are starting from scratch, I recommend
this tutorial series on YouTube. Yep, it's pretty long, but it's broken down into easily digestible chunks, and John is really easy to listen to.
I've been getting my boards from
Aisler. You can probably do a little bit cheaper from China, but I try to support more local businesses when it's reasonable to do so.

Interesting. That post was
barely before my time here, so I never saw it. I've had no issues with them, but I've also never asked them to do anything particularly complicated.

I've used Kicad for all my projects, and either Seeed Studio or Itead for PCBs...

+1 for KiCad. I moved to it from Eagle a few years ago and haven't looked back.
I mostly used seeedstudio for PCBs until COVID hit and I switched over to PCBWay who managed to keep reasonable shipping going. I find them both pretty similar in terms of speed, cost and quality so now I mainly just use whichever one has sent me the most recent voucher :-)

Has anyone used this one ?

EDIT:
Nevermind, just CAD not PCB by the looks of it

Thats a useful link
@Smonson.
For me its Eagle but
@exxos and I often have discussions between his old version and my new one when either of us find issues with the program. My main reasoning for Eagle is it coupled with Fusion360 so we can make the 3D models you often see the renders of on the forum and helps to see if things fit together before sending off for the boards to be made.
My only gripe with Eagle and I will probably start
@exxos off here is that there are still some fundamental bugs in there that have been around from the version exxos uses to the latest. If only they could fix those instead of keep adding on newer features it would be a great tool.

I use Eagle 7.7 (on Mac :) ) and PCBWay for all my PCB. They check the file you send before letting you pay, work with you on fixing issue and shipping is fast.

Were there any good PCB design and schematic software on Atari?
