I've redone the schematic for the 16bit PLCC ROM...

I tried to autorouter on 2 layers.. Eagle gave up at 40% and basically went nuts :roll:


It would likely have to be done on 4 layers which just makes it very time consuming to do :(

It's got to the point where I just don't have the patience anymore to sit puzzling for hours over routing pcbs.. I've already spent ages trying to route previous designs, so i'm not really motivated anymore to spend more time on this.

So If anyone wants to have a crack at routing it...

Been fiddling around with Rodolphe's layout a bit..

Mostly added poly fill for 0V top and bottom layers. Manually routed some 5V and 0V traces. I think its pretty much ready to go off to fab for a prototype run..

Test PCBs arrived... Next to find some time to build and test...

Next to work out how to program the ROM..

I have tried swapped and not swapped ST diag image files and nothing happens :shrug: So either I've ballsed something up, or 16bit idea just doesn't work for some reason :shrug:

I've got some more ROM's coming this week, could be my eprom have bad connections.. So will program both files again and see if anything happens then..

can you show us the merged file so that I can check if they look fine (and send me the original too so that I can compare :) ).

So DIAG_LO_HI.bin is a merge of the 2 other one and then byte-swapped ready to program as it starts with $52 $FA $5F $23 (diag cartridge starts with $FA52235F).
So this file looks good to me and is ready to program.
