I'm curious how you managed to put the original plug on the cable.

I cut the connector in half along the original mold lines, dremelled out the inside (it's filled with rubber), glued it back together and soldered onto the original connectors.

Thanks, it's good to know that's doable.

Bye the way, I have seen two different types of connectors on the original ST mice, one shielded and the other not.
