Welcome to the December 2004 issue. May I take this opportunity to wish all
of our readers a very merry Christmas (may Santa bring you all an Atari 10
in 1). Well, against all odds, we have reached our momentous 50th issue and
what a journey it has been. Roll on the next 50! Right on cue, I'm
currently nursing a cold which I'll no doubt enjoy over the Christmas
holiday (and be over by the time I start work again) but still have the
challenge of Christmas shopping... so until next year :-)
Best
wishes

The
big 50 Welcome to MyAtari's
half-century issue, already! Matthew and I are
very pleased to have reached this milestone,
it could not have happened without the generous
support of MyAtari's readers and contributors
- together we make a great community. Special
thanks to James Joell this issue for providing
the basis of a cover picture when we were all stuck!
This is the first Christmas cover design that is not
completely or at least partially 3D rendered
(did anyone know that the robot on the cover
of issue 14 was not rendered but in fact a photograph
of an old toy?! This was then layered with some
3D rendered elements). Incidentally, that Atari
Player On Board sign is not made up, those were
made for real as car window stickers. Look for
them at Best Electronics - and I'm sure you'll
find a ton of other stickers and badges you
never knew you wanted!
Still catching
up I'm currently
sitting in the MyAtari area at Retrovision 5
(February 2005), on Friday, which is generally
considered to be setting up day but it's already
buzzing intensely. Rob Perry has just arrived
and is setting up on the opposite side of the
room as a result of MyAtari having engulfed
more space than even we could imagine, and Thomas
is yet to come, tomorrow! I've loaded up with
new equipment with the intention of doing some
work on the magazine during the event, we'll
see how far that one goes!
