Id go for those and either crimp or solder a pcb plug / header on the end.exxos wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 4:25 pm There are these in China.. Likely my only option other than buying the USA bracket so far.

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Yeah its about my only "good" option currently.PhilC wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 5:53 pm Id go for those and either crimp or solder a pcb plug / header on the end.
Though I may not even bother with the mouse to start with, I always use the keyboard anyway
Re: Fixing my Milan 040 (or not) blog
I wonder if one of these cases could be hackable..
https://www.novatech.co.uk/products/ant ... 048-3.html
I was mostly looking for a case with a lot of slots on the back.. There isn't *much* size difference from a ATX from what I can tell. If the slots line up with the Milan MB, maybe some creative new mounting holes might be enough to make it all fit
I will have to go looking in the loft see what junk is up there. I'm pretty sure I have a old ATX case up there. But no idea what it is anymore.

Re: Fixing my Milan 040 (or not) blog
Im guessing you would you need to put your own standoffs inside, is that an easy task?
Re: Fixing my Milan 040 (or not) blog
Yes..viking272 wrote: Fri Jun 27, 2025 10:18 pm Im guessing you would you need to put your own standoffs inside,
For someone who knows what they are doing yes... People like me, no :p
Only way I know if tac welding or just drilling holes in the side of the case. Maybe the dome top style bolts if black wouldn't look to bad.. Would look better than a discoloured 30+ years old broken case anyway..
EDIT
Saying at, the internal metal isn't visible so drilling holes would likely be fine...

Ahem...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/286619570634?_ ... R9Tf57n2ZQ
Strange... it doesnt appear on a UK search (although its advertised in Ebay USA but actually based in the UK
)
He may even post if asked nicely, or someone around Brighton area can pick it up for you.

Oh, I see.
Well, its got to be worth a shot asking about postage rather than paying some ludicrous 'rare' price and/or from USA postage and taxes.

...have been bogged down in work nonsense but I sorta caught up on that L88M mask drama - had no idea that had been going on. So now 68040s are also turning unobtanium? By the time anyone bakes a new 040 card for Ataris there won't be any left :p it was a lot easier to get them before...
BTW @exxos - the 68040 has 8kb cache. Two caches - 4kb each. So yes its a big jump

Re: Fixing my Milan 040 (or not) blog
@dml yeah just China allover really. The 060 CPU were the same. Once China figured out people only wanted the rev6 mask that's what they were reprinted as. I bought loads of them a few years ago for my store. The amount of returns I had to do... Cost a small fortune. In the end China reprinted all 060s... Even the genuine rev6 ones. Madness. Even more mad is the price of rev1 now.
Ultimately it's why I want to redo the ST chipset to just use a faster bus. We should be able to hit 32mhz without much issues. But that's full 32mhz bus with 32mhz writes. STram won't be a bottleneck anymore. Then later move to the 030 for full 32bit... No need for accelerators and multiple other hacks then
I really need to get back to all that stuff.. Just never enough hours each day for everything..
