DO NOT USE DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time it is unfortunately not possible to white list users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

I think people should write software which actually works properly :)

I am trying lesser versions of 7.x.x and just trying to figure out the latest one which works..

EDIT:

Looks like I tried to install it in 2018 going by files left on my PC when I searched for virtualbox..

Yep.. and hell no! not going through all that again!

I remember it well, the installer will temporarily disable your Internet connection and enable it after the program completes... Program finishes installing... Internet connection never comes back on... Then 4 hours of pulling hair out trying to get it to come back on again....

I think there is something fundamentally up with your main machine.

Ironically, this is exactly what using a VM would help prevent!

Smalliermouse ST-optimised USB mouse adapter based on SmallyMouse2

It's only like a year old, and the one I had before it didn't work either . MX is on my laptop and not got anywhere with that either.

I personally think all software is a bit crap these days, not tested properly, and started going downhill somewhere around 2005! I mean I had to fix CleanTalks extension myself a few weeks ago!

This is why I don't wanna do stuff anymore, as everything takes 100x longer than it should!

I will just stick to Atari tools. Stuff worked back then :P

@exxos run the following command in an administrator command window on your Windows machine...

Code: Select all

sfc /scannow
In case you don't know, to get an admin command window type 'cmd' in the Windows search box, then when it shows CMD Command Window or some such right click and select "Run as administrator"

The 'sfc' command will check all the Windows executables for correctness and attempt to repair any that don't have the correct checksum.

I run this at least once a month on my machines as Windows Update often breaks things.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I can guarantee 100% that if I run SFC it won't find anything.. I've got like 100 programs installed which all work fine. Other than bugs in software companies never fix.

I'd say as the latest version errors but a few versions before don't.. They broke something in the installer recently. Plus I tried all this back in 2018 and ultimately gave up back then.

Like I keep saying though, it's just not worth all the hassle.

Probably be simpler to send my build to @Badwolf to compile and see if there's any significant difference to the original build. It's not like there's going to be any updates anytime soon anyway.

SFC will almost always find something after Windows update has installed stuff.

Believe me... this used to be my job!

I've never had such issues with win7.

Anyway, I'm not spending anymore time on all this now.
