Hi, no i havent tried that. Whats the logic behind that out of interest?
My original CPU still has the blitter patch attached, so id have to desoldered that. Does the blitter patch still function in any capacity without the wire soldered to the board?

Sorry,I haven't followed the thread. Did you fix the broken trace underneath the motherboard when you removed the blitter patch?

You have reversed the cut traces on the motherboard for the blitter patch using bodge wires haven't you?
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

It's a very good point as I don't recall if it was mentioned or not

I wanted to try this in another Mega, this time my Mega 4 which i have just refurbished.
I fully recapped the motherboard, again with a new meanwell psu and also put the CPU in a socket and fixed the cpu track (after removing blitter patch)
It works fine with the high/low tos 1.02 eproms i have and the cpu in the socket, no problems.
I then reintroduced the exxos dual tos board and mega booster/decoder and now i get exactly the same problems i had before with my Mega 1.
Exactly the same behaviour, in a different machine.
This Mega 4 has NO IMP chips in it.
I even reflowed all the pins on both the dual tos and booster/decoder which are all perfect.
Im not even wanting to use the booster, just the decoding would have been fine, but no. (Have disabled the booster, by bridging the pads on the decoder board)
Chris can i send them back for replacements please as i think its faulty?

If you're not in the EU, you can send it back for a retest. They all are tested before they are sent out anyway. I'd not be able to program the pld if they were never powered up. But also don't forget I don't support original machines anymore as there are to many issues with stuff. Everything is generally tested on a H5 machine these days.

OK thanks Chris, yes ill do that please.
Ive PM'd you could you reply with the return shipping address to send back.

EDIT: Chris was a complete gent about this and rather than me sending the boards back just refunded me, so wanted to say thanks for that.
I was just hoping to send them back to get tested and if faulty get a replacement..
Still puzzled and annoyed i couldnt get this working, i think perhaps i was unlucky and got a bad board or something, one of those things.
I know megas can be troublesome too.
Anyway, i guess ill just put these in my spares box and maybe one day revisit it... (or maybe they'll just stay there)
