DO NOT USE DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time it is unfortunately not possible to white list users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Phil C's Raven build
Re: Phil C's Raven build
Well, that's just plain annoying, it crashes with all versions of the firmware I have, as does my original Diamond card, yet the GD5429 runs great in my Raven all day long.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: Phil C's Raven build
So I am wondering, since @agranlund has the same Diamond GD5434 card as I do and it works on his system, what the differences are for my config and his.
All I can think of is that I am using a ATF1508AS-10 instead of an ATF1508-7 and am using the previous version of the firmware as the latest wouldn't work for me. So I have ordered a couple of them directly from from Microchip as that seems to be the only place that has them now. Other than that, it's likely software config causing the issue.

Re: Phil C's Raven build
Do the cards work OK in a PC with DOS? Are you sure it's the Raven's fault, and not the Pine either PCB or bios, or dac?PhilC wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 3:09 pm So I've built another of the Pine VGA boards and this one does boot to TOS on the Raven but also locks up. I do tend to get different results with different bios versions, so just trying a few of those now to see if it fixes things.
Re: Phil C's Raven build
@Mikerochip yes they work fine in my PC.
The different bioses do have an effect but only to graphics quality etc typically or make the card not run at all.
The Diamond card is the same as the one @agranlund uses.

I'll double check what versions of ATF1508AS + ATF22V10's I'm using when I get home this evening.PhilC wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 4:14 pm So I am wondering, since @agranlund has the same Diamond GD5434 card as I do and it works on his system, what the differences are for my config and his.

About the firmware, is it NESSI_250714.jed that isn't working for you and you are instead using NESSI_250627.jed ?
Re: Phil C's Raven build
@agranlund I think that's the case but I'm unable to verify as my windows pc died on me last week and I'm slowly replacing it with another one.

Re: Phil C's Raven build
@PhilC, these are the ATF chips in my computer:
There are no deliberate reasons for why I have 22LV10's, I didn't even know until I checked just now
Possibly a "wrong" order, or maybe I had those at hand in my stash of stuff at the time.
Code: Select all
Nessi: ATF1508AS-7JX84
Narnia: ATF22LV10C-10PU
Iksi: ATF22LV10C-10PU
Possibly a "wrong" order, or maybe I had those at hand in my stash of stuff at the time.
Re: Phil C's Raven build
I'm using Lattice 22V10-7 Gals but have been from the offset without issue. the ATF1508AS is the 10ns part, so i've ordered a couple of 7ns parts from Microchip direct.agranlund wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 8:41 pm @PhilC, these are the ATF chips in my computer:

What sort of price? The ones I have, are 10ns too. I'm *really* interested to see if they make a difference.PhilC wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 8:49 pm I'm using Lattice 22V10-7 Gals but have been from the offset without issue. the ATF1508AS is the 10ns part, so i've ordered a couple of 7ns parts from Microchip direct.

I got mine directly from Microchip too. Bought a few since the PLCC versions are now end-of-life.Mikerochip wrote: Fri Oct 17, 2025 1:05 pmWhat sort of price? The ones I have, are 10ns too.
