I'll see what I have to hand - that would be fine for trouble-shooting/ruling it in or out I guess...
Thanks for the suggestion!

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

@JezC Assume you got all the jumpers in place like RAM and the jumpers below the shifter etc?
I also assume you left it 30 seconds to see if it got to desktop :hide:

Yes, jumpers are set to match the same as on my other H5C1...which boots to desktop OK but has the bombs on accessing the floppy.
It's got the modified TOS 1.04 with IDE boot support (that also reports any Floppy Drives detected) but it stays with just a white screen...
I'll check for any bus activity with the LA tomorrow...too late for setting it up tonight.
Thanks for the pointers though!

@JezC I would check the dumb things first like bent pins on those plcc chips etc. Those buggers always catching me out :(

Re: JezC - the second (and laST) H5C1 build
I might transfer all the chips back into the other H5C1 & fit a new set into this one...then I can compare between the two.
If the original board is OK with the chips re-fitted then that should rule out the chips/pins - but not the sockets...

How does that work with the VGA connector instead of a normal monitor socket? Does it work on all resolutions? I am guessing it doesn't fit through the round hole in the ST case.

You still need a monitor capable of supporting all 3 resolutions (so 15kHz as well as 31kHz) but it effectively gets rid of the external VGA adaptor.russellnash wrote: 13 Apr 2024 07:09 How does that work with the VGA connector instead of a normal monitor socket? I've not tried it in a case yet - still trying to sort out the non-boot issue...which is a whole different story for one of my other topics!
I'll try it in a case at some point this weekend if I can (but I lose pretty much all of tomorrow on a round trip driving my son back to university).

Thanks, no rush, I just haven't seen that before, so it got my attention.

The VGA connector aligns with the RGB hole but I doubt it fits without some widening of the hole on the case.
