Hah! I did at one stage consider spraying my spare 1940 black to match my machine! :Dterriblefire wrote: 30 Dec 2023 14:48 After this i'll put an external floppy on it at some point and pickup a 1942 and spray it black.

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

I'm thinking i could make a new metal PSU case from sheet metal if i had a drawing.Higgy wrote: 30 Dec 2023 18:51
That is annoying and that PSU looks different from an Expert 2 one! But then the Japanese do tend to change things a lot and revise rather than churn out the same thing for 20 years.
Not quite sure how you can use the new PCB and mount it securely without making something.
I placed my PicoPSU's on a piece on plastic that I mounted inside the existing metal PSU housing, then the Power On logic breadboard was put in a small plastic bag also inside the existing housing.
I then removed one of the 'FG' earth mounting points at the back and fitted the PicoPSU barrel connector (also ditched the PSU fan as Pico generates little heat and power brick is outside).
But with the large Pro case I can see you might want it all inside the case.
However if you had the Pico's PSU outside the main case then you would not need to worry about having 240V exposed inside without a housing.

@terriblefire Thingverse might have what you need to mount the PicoPSU inside your Pro case:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3338243
Or you can probably get the dimensions off the files included. As I think the actual files are not for your PicoPSU PCB.
I was thinking cost vs time and say get the PicoPSU PCB for the Expert made, but that might still not help as you need to mount the Expert PSU housing still to your internal mounting points. Chances are they are not the same.
Also if it helps and you have not already found it, I can send Github links to Memory Expansions, you probably would like to look at the GAL code etc.
Although what with all the faffing about, you might need a break from X68K tinkering :)
Also good shout on spraying your 1942 black, mine is quite yellow and I think I have a can left of Vinyl Dye which worked very well on my yellow A500.

So the designer of that thingverse download is sending me a PSU enclosure. I'm going to copy it in Fusion and get PCBway to make a new one.Higgy wrote: 01 Jan 2024 12:09 @terriblefire Thingverse might have what you need to mount the PicoPSU inside your Pro case:

I've looked at the Gals panic memory expansion and i'm sure i can do one much cheaper.. I might have a few designs lying around already. Also if it helps and you have not already found it, I can send Github links to Memory Expansions, you probably would like to look at the GAL code etc.

Re: A X68000 arrived
Nice one on the PSU enclosure.
This is for further down the road but it popped in my head; on quite a few games it says 'switch to 10mhz mode' (before 030 models there were 16mhz 68000 models), due to the system running too fast (I think too fast sound is the main effect).
Something to consider as a 50Mhz 030 might break a lot of game compatibility. And for the X68000 if disabling the 030 CPU, you would definitely still want the extra RAM and any other goodies.
A software switch would be great then it could be built into the HD image and the 030 CPU could be configured per game.
I don't know how many 030 X68000s are in English writing hands, so for example people say Star Wars runs well at 16mhz, but the game might go bananas at say 030 50mhz! (I guess this could be tested somewhat using XM6G emulator) There might not be the English information out there with experiences of gaming on 030s.
I wonder if something like the late MC68SEC000 defaulting to 10Mhz but software switchable to 16 and 20mhz might be best for compatibility.
