Some little progress:

On of the 74HCT245T buffers is now fitted.

HCT.JPG

The other one has to wait, due to 2 or 3 tracks not having continuity.

The RTC is also soldered and has one track fixed (blurry pic):

And to finish today's post, some new tracks repaired:

That's all for today.

@rubber_jonnie

Thanks, but it's not over yet.

I keep my fingers crossed and I hope the machine will live again.

Small update today.

Battery.JPG

Via repaired with an eyelet and pins fitted for future battery connection.

Holder.JPG

The battery will be placed in this holder.

Monitor.JPG

And for fun, I powered on the A5000 (without battery, and track repairs still pending) and was greeted by this nice screen, with a cursor only.

At least, there's a sign of life...

:D

Did you try booting with Del held down? Should reset the cmos and boot up to Risc OS from ROM.

Yes, but nothing happened.

The cursor appeared after another key was pressed ('R' or 'T')...

It was just a try and I didn't care too much... Some jumpers may be incorrectly set, and some tracks are still left for repair.

To reset the CMOS it's hold down R and power-on on most Archs.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

From what I can see, R or Del should do the reset, and it 'should' work, but I think the next step would be to get the floppy drive connected up to see what, if any, the blink codes are.
