Just hope the diag cart will help you to solve the issues.

The Spares board runs, just won't load any 48K games, just 16K, and then erratically, so I think it is likely fixable, just needs the right diagnostics to work out what's bad. I don't see any overheating RAM using a thermal camera, wondering if there is a problem with the LS157's which are databus multiplexers, though it could be the LS00.

I do hope so, my friend informs me that it is at the delivery depot, and that they are ever hopeful that it will come :) Once my friend has it, I'm sure they'll confirm it's arrival :)

In the meantime, the Spectrum 128 +2 I have has really nice image quality:

At least so my friend tells me...

Well, please inform your friend that I would have sent spare parts for the tape drive if there had have been space, but the CPC464 is already 75cm long and they wouldn't fit.

My friend said 'Stupid long computers' but is also fine with that and has other friends who can probably help with the cassette deck, so not to worry :)

I am not short of cassette deck belts, that's for sure, and can let my friend have any number of them :)

Oh, it's all working. These were just the parts from the donor tape deck and speaker/power switch etc. unit. It has a new belt, but it was a cheap one so it may break. Still, your friend doesn't need it as I've installed a mod to allow an external tape drive input (with motor control). There's an attempt at making a output to allow saving but the level wasn't right.

Ahh, my friend will be very pleased :)

Should hopefully work well for loading with the Aduitape, which I will let my friend borrow :)

Also, just arrived:
