DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

I'd like to test your modification. If allowed, could I also request you edit the binary to set the Falcon control register bit setting for the Blitter to 1/2 (8MHz)?
...
Think you're able to correct the CRC AIRC.
OK, here's a version of my TOS4 that:

1) Sets up an FRB (normal size, the 128 was just to prove a point);
2) Detects TT-RAM and declares it;
3) Skips the CRC check -- I don't correct it;
4) Blocks the Blitter and CPU from switching to 16MHz.

EDIT: since this is a DFB1 thread and this is custom for Rusty (it won't work in DFB1) I'll PM it instead.
So you've (well, Frank) been able to set the FRB at 128K, and successfully use the earlier version of HDDriver?
This was simply a test to prove things then failed at 128k.
If increasing the FRB to 128K works under Frank's testing of file sizes, wouldn't it make sense to just set an FRB size to the maximum block sizes HDDriver uses for file transfers and just be done with it?
Uwe states the transfer size changes depending on various factors, so we couldn't simply guess it. Also the default he cited was 256MB, which is somewhat of a blocker to that approach! :lol:

My patching process has been published at: https://github.com/dh219/toshack

This is a nasty hack for my benefit rather than a full-featured TOS Patching program like TOSPATCH, but I always found TOSPATCH hard to work with.

I found the language barrier in the read me files impenetrable.

Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Thanks!
Is the smaller binary because you've stripped out languages or something?
I'll test tonight.

Think if you look at my last post, I have other fish to fry.
So 100MHz/4CH 1gb sampling it is I told the wife :)

256MB or 256K?
Ones half the size of a fully populated CT60! Sorry, I only have about 50MB of alt RAM on the AB to give up for a file buffer :lol:

Simply overwriting existing bytes. Should be identical:

Code: Select all

256MB was the quote -- presumably a suitable approximation to 'infinite'. I don't have a SCSI device to verify with.

Hi. I bought one of Foft's DFB1's and installed it in my Falcon today. My Falcon seems to work okay still, but I have no idea if the DFB1 is enabled or not. If I run SYSINFO it shows that the machine is operating at 16Mhz. None of the jumpers are enabled so I think it should be running at 40Mhz, but I could be missing something. I saw in one of BW's YouTube videos that there is a program called ACCELL that I need? Is that the case?

Assuming the DFB1 is working, I will try to flash the modified TOS 4.04 I saw in this thread to get the TT RAM recognized as well.

Sorry for my ignorance and any hints in the right direction are appreciated.

It has the modified tos on the dfb1 flash chip. So with no jumpers on it’ll be accelerated and have the ttram enabled.

Hmm, well that is interesting. Gembench and Sysinfo do not show any alt-ram, nor does the alt-ram show during the memory test at power up.

Maybe the 68030 came a bit loose in shipping or something. I'll try to reseat that and see if that changes anything.
