I expect no one on here has ever heard of the Game 'Lode Runner' or the machine it runs on, a 'Commodore 64' as they are (apparently) so rare and valuable:

Re: LOLPRICE
@JezC thats not even his most expensive retro gaming item either!
There was a handheld game on there for £7.5k! Only I gave him the benefit of the doubt on that one, because I'd never heard of it, so it may be worth more.

Re: LOLPRICE
I guess the guy lowered the price a bit because of the missing key...

Re: LOLPRICE
To get one of these I ended up buying it in a thousand pieces and rebuilding it!!! Only cost me €30 though :)
Sadly these are rare as rocking horse :shite: these days, just as rare to find a Mega ST with one...

Re: LOLPRICE
To put that in perspective, a Mega ST keyboard with a problem with 1 key sold for
$75.00 at the VCF Midwest 2025 show I just attended.
A couple of the guys I was with absolutely would have bought it but they didn't
get to it first. It went fast (of course). :)

Re: LOLPRICE
Unfortunately, and I don't know why, they seem to be both expensive and rare here in the UK. I bought a Mega off somebody and he wouldn't include the keyboard as he had another machine he wanted it for.Darklord wrote: 01 Oct 2025 14:26To put that in perspective, a Mega ST keyboard with a problem with 1 key sold for

In theory there should be as many keyboards as Megas, the reality there just don't seem to be. Hence why my keyboard in not a UK one, but I have tweaked it for UK use. My other Megas have Eiffels.
Apart from my MSTE, which has a proper MSTE keyboard.

Re: LOLPRICE
Mega ST (and Mega STe/TT) keyboards are rare globally, the former far more so.
Maybe it's because the plastics on the Mega ST keyboard have crystallised more and hence shatter as soon as you look at them. They're selling for hundreds of pounds/dollars each these days.

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.
