The server is under a massive attack which started yesterday morning.
Unfortunately I am not at home on weekends to keep a eye on it all.
So if we go down, I will not be able to fix it until Sunday night. Fingers crossed we stay up!
I have also had to block and ban anything with HTTP1.x protocol.
So make sure you are using HTTP2 otherwise you will get banned!

all variations of exxoshost.co.uk (www / http etc) *should* now load , and *should* have a cert which expires in 3 months time...

The problem was indeed the files I had in sites-enabled, I have like domain-ssl.confXXX where XXX I thought would stop apache from loading them.. but how wrong I was! I deleted the files instead and now apache seems to be loading the new certs!
Well done!

The sites-enabled is (in Debian & therefore I expect on Ubuntu) meant to contain symlinks to the 'real' config files in sites-available. That way you simply delete the symlink you want to disable rather than renaming it.

There are various helper scripts (in this case a2ensite and a2dissite for apache2 enable/disable site) that manage these symlinks for you, but you can of course do it by hand.

Hope you can get the auto-renew working too, else you'll have a boring time every 90 days!

Yeah, figured that now , why can't they just call them shortcuts, then it would have made more sense   I know what the ensite things do now as well, learned a lot the past few days!

I think pretty much everything in the latest phpbb forum software is broken. Aside from the drama of having to reinstall the forum and set stuff up again.. pretty much every extension used here is broken to some degree  I'm opening up support tickets constantly with the developer of all these extensions.. as to if they will get fixed or not...

EDIT

Did I mention the new server has 1 more CPU core.. bringing it to a massive total of... 2!

The next load of drama is the s9e/mediaembed extension which hasn't been updated in years.. This one allows things like youtube videos to be embedded etc. So I have had to move to a different extension Advanced BBCode Box. This one seems to do the job thankfully!

Onto the next broken thing...

Want stuff fixing.. fix it yourself.. So did some patches and the whole thing is up to date now :)

At some point I could do with a couple testers to do a in-depth test on the new forum to make sure nothing is broken.

Floppyshop PDL I started patching some time ago. Some final fixes and now that is patched up and working again. I have removed the captcha as the page doesn't get many hits, so was pointless keeping it in.

Also trying my best to make the service future-proof and secure as I can..
