Thanks for the advice. I was just going by what Exxos said in the post abou the DSP-508A about the rectifier holes not needing to be drilled out.
I will be replacing the rectifier and all caps included in the kits. I'm gonna invest in a desoldering gun. Just what is needed for jobs like this. I've got a few retro computers that will need repairing at some point so a desoldering gun will be a good investment. I might ask my other half if she can get me one for Xmas!

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Ask nicely for a Hakko FR-301... ;-) Hehe.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...

Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I have a Duratool, which to be fair does get mixed reviews, but mine has always been great and only cost me £99.
