@supaduper What motherboard revision was it and also what does the "partial boot" look like?
I have 3.1 roms on EPROM as well as original MX chips and both fail to boot with the 1230 installed on a 1D.4 but work with the 2B.
Although from reading the thread it does sound that people with ROM emulators are having more success.

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Partial boot means it is booting so far to a WB screen and then it freezes with various `Can`t Find` errors, mine is a 1D4 mobo, like I said perhaps these 3.1 roms ( Mine are original MX too )are getting long in the tooth :)

I’m using CMorley’s Rom switch and have no issues. Just tried the original MX 3.0 roms and just got a black screen.supaduper wrote: 31 Aug 2021 12:31 Ok so I solved my `Not Booting on 3.1 rom`
I tried all the suggestions as mentioned here by Chucky and still no joy but was getting a purple screen, and all the info on the interwebs points it to a ROM fault , but mine are orignal 3.1 so I thought must be good, anyways cut a long story short I tried an old pair of EPROM 3.1 roms and I got a partial boot ! hmmm but tried everything and stil no full booting but progress
So in the end I flashed the excellent USB Rom Emulators by CMORELY on here with 3.1 rom images and bingo ! worked out of the Trap !
So all I can say regarding this problem is perhaps our 30 year 3.1 roms are slowly dying , so please someone else try another set of 3.1 roms or burn a set to see if you get the same result

Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)
I wonder if there is an easy way to determine ROM chip speed?
With EPROMS it is always said you need 120ns(?!) Or quicker.
I wonder if Commodore saved money (or were sold wrong spec items) by using say 150ns chips. The potential reason for MX genuine chips not working.
And what with all the remarking on EPROMS it would not be surprising if say 120s are 150 or slower, to give a reason for them not working.
@kulamario you seem to have lots of motherboards and have had success/failure. Are you using the same working ROM in say the 2B also in the ReAmiga? or if not, can you please try.

Interesting.. None of my roms are originals. They're all EPROMS

Hello.
Could I also get the firmware for this card?
I would check if it will work on my three motherboards which I have 1.D1 1.D4 and 2B.

Re: TF1230 Beta Interest (Open Source)
as an experiment I progammed two sets of EPROMs with 3.1, and both sets when used on the TF1230 just gives a Grey/Black screen, so in conclusion my A1200 1D4 will only work with CMORLEYs eprom emulators nothing else will work.
Steve you say you have only used EPROMs are these Cmorleys Emulators ? or have you used 27c400 eproms aswell ?

I only use 27C400/27C800 chips. I'm preparing a tweaked firmware to try.

I use same set 3.1 for all tests
