i'm not good at unsoldering, how do i go about removing an ic when all pins have solder removed, seems harder than i thought, just won't come out. i suspect i need to heat all pins up at same time :(

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Re: Alienkid H5 C1 build
There are a few ways to desolder chips and get them out easily. My preferred method is a desolder gun but there are other methods such as a hot air gun and others. These old boards are sometimes difficult to desolder even with the methods mentioned it sometimes needs a helping hand levering the chips as they are heated up. I have managed it with a handheld pump desolder tool and a soldering iron and a bit of leverage but it takes a while gently easing the chip out.alienkidmj12 wrote: 05 Aug 2021 21:18 i'm not good at unsoldering, how do i go about removing an ic when all pins have solder removed, seems harder than i thought, just won't come out. i suspect i need to heat all pins up at same time :(
Also sometimes resoldering with fresh solder helps in making the solder flow better when you come to remove it.

Often solder get stuck on the top side very easily on the ground and sometimes on VCC pins. Pump away the old solder as much as you can. Add new solder as mention previously by others and pump that out. Crank up the heat a bit on GND and VCC to get the solder to melt on top as well. Wiggle the pins loose from the bottom if they are a little stuck. Then wiggle the whole chip from the top. You can also braid from the top and bottom.

If you want to run TOS v2.06 or any 256K ROM (EmuTOS for example) you need a decoder board.alienkidmj12 wrote: 08 Aug 2021 15:37 question is, for the h5 board,

But if you just want to get the board up and running with TOS v1.04 it is not needed.
But I think Trudie has decoder on it.
