On the model railway front, I managed to complete the main structure of the island platform waiting rooms and offices. The glazing was pretty tricky.

Things to finish it includes various signage, detailing and the lighting.

There's been a new demo released for the QL if you want to add it to your collection (assuming you haven't already)

It's from SMFX.

Thanks. I knew that SFX had released one but I hadn't seen a link.

Having had a thought that if Terry Pratchett were still with us and writing Discworld novels we'd have one about AI by now. Probably involving Unseen University, Hex and artistic imps.

So, I thought it would be fun to see what ChatGPT could do with creating book cover art with it's artistic imps. :-)

Chasing imps through Unseen University.png

I'd buy that book. :-)

If it had read all his books, I'd also be expecting a reference to an anthill and maybe some hallucinations about the absence of cheese ;)

Stephen, did you ever manage to get rid of those streaks on your Mega ST cases that you retrorbrighted about two years ago? I had similar results, perhaps worse, on one ST about 4 years ago, which I put mainly down to putting it outside in much higher temperatures than ever before and it changing so quickly. It was also the brownest looking plastic I have ever seen.
I looked at it yesterday and it was much more yellow, but still streaky. I gave it another go yesterday in about 18 degrees air temperature, mainly sunny; It looks as bad as it did the first time. I think it probably can't be improved.

Not really, but Atari plastics do seem to have not been mixed well with the plasticiser and flame retardant so you see a lot of plastic flow lines.

Now that it's retrobrightening season again I may try some gentle solar brightening (purely sunlight and no peroxide) to see if it can even out.

At the time I looked for reasons for the problem caused by myself, because before it had always worked well. I think I won't try it again and just accept that it is how it is when you have a bad plastic mix. Thank you.
